In short
- TalkKiwi is strictly 18+. Minors are not allowed to use it.
- We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and any sexualisation of minors.
- Offenders are permanently banned and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other authorities.
- Report concerns with the in-chat Report button (reason “Under 18”) or by email to [email protected].
This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what applies.
1. Our standard
TalkKiwi prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form. This includes, but is not limited to:
- creating, sharing, requesting, linking to or showing child sexual abuse material, including drawn, AI-generated or altered images;
- grooming: building a relationship with a minor, or someone believed to be a minor, for sexual purposes;
- sextortion: threatening to share images of a minor, or pressuring a minor to produce sexual content;
- sexualising minors in words, role-play, usernames or images;
- arranging to meet a minor, or trafficking or advertising minors;
- an adult knowingly continuing a conversation with a minor in a sexual or romantic way.
2. Keeping minors off TalkKiwi
- Everyone must confirm they are 18 or older before chatting. Accounts must provide a birth year showing they are 18+.
- Users reported as “Under 18”, or flagged by our systems, are blocked from chatting until a moderator has reviewed their account.
- Our marketing, design and content are aimed at adults and we do not target minors.
- We comply with age-assurance laws where we offer the Service, and may restrict access in places where we cannot meet them.
3. Detection and moderation
- On-device nudity detection blurs a stranger’s video on the viewer’s screen.
- Where enabled, automated tools check profile photos and occasional video frames for sexual content.
- Banned-word filters, rate limits and a trust score reduce abuse and ban evasion.
- Trained moderators review reports, with child safety reports prioritised ahead of all others.
- Banned users are blocked by account, device and network, and we act against attempts to return.
4. Reporting to authorities
When we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material or exploitation, we remove it, permanently ban the users involved, preserve the relevant data as required by law, and report it to the CyberTipline of the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which works with law enforcement worldwide. We also report to other national authorities where the law requires it, and we cooperate with valid law enforcement requests (see our law enforcement guidelines).
5. How to report
- In a chat: press Report and choose “Under 18” or the most relevant reason. This attaches the recent conversation and, for video, a few frames.
- By email: [email protected]. Please do not attach or forward abusive images; describe what you saw and when instead.
- Directly to authorities: NCMEC CyberTipline (US and worldwide), the Internet Watch Foundation (UK), or the INHOPE hotline in your country.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
6. Help and support
If someone is threatening to share your images, do not pay or send more. Stop responding, keep the evidence, report them, and get help. NCMEC’s Take It Down service helps remove intimate images of people who were under 18 when they were taken. You can ask us to remove content at Copyright and content removal.
7. Child safety contact
Our designated child safety contact can be reached at [email protected]. They are able to speak to our practices and compliance with child safety laws.
