- You need your ban ID, shown on the screen you saw when you were banned.
- If your appeal is approved, the ban is lifted and you can chat again straight away.
This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what applies.
Send your appeal
If you think you were banned by mistake, tell us what happened. Appeals are free and decided by a human moderator, usually within 24 hours. Be honest and specific: it helps us review your appeal quickly.
Before you appeal
- Find your ban ID. It is shown on the ban screen, for example
KB-7F3A9C2E. The Appeal button on that screen fills it in for you. - Read the rules. Check the Community Rules so you know what the ban may relate to.
- One appeal per ban. If you already sent one, wait for the decision before sending another.
How to write a good appeal
- Explain what happened in your own words, including roughly when the chat took place.
- If you think someone reported you unfairly, say so and explain why.
- If you broke a rule by accident, say so. Honest appeals are taken into account.
- Keep it polite and stick to the facts. Messages can be up to 2,000 characters.
What happens next
A moderator reviews the evidence attached to the ban, such as the reported messages and, for video, a few frames, together with your message. If the ban was a mistake, it is lifted and you can chat again straight away. If the ban was correct, it stays in place until it ends.
Leaving an email address is optional. It lets a moderator contact you if they have a question about your appeal.
